I have been cooking since I was a kid. My family has some of the greatest cooks that I know. I was drawn to barbecue after learning tips from my uncle Dave Eason who is the family grillmaster.
My first grill was handmade from 1/8 inch sheet metal, and worked great. A few years later I entered a BBQ rib cookoff and did really good.
One day, while cooking in a competition, I gave a spectator a piece of chicken. She told me that I had a gift, and that my food was on another level……the next level. That day NEXT LEVEL BBQ was born. That was in 2010. In 2014, I began the journey as a food blogger with The Next Level on Facebook as well as on WordPress.com. I am also a freelance writer for The Arkansas Times’ blog Eat Arkansas. I enjoy feeding people as a private caterer. My specialty is BBQ, but being a southern cook, I will fix anything for you.
